PC holiday card

>> December 17, 2007

This week our eye doctor sent us a card.

When we opened the envelope, we saw a red, white, and blue card with silver stars all over it that read Happy Holidays on the front.

Upon opening the card, this is what we read:

"Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a world of peace and happiness in the New Year."

Now if that's not the silliest thing you have read this Christmas season, I would love to have feedback, but my family sure did crack up.

Some people who make me happy

In no particular order:

Blandrew (Blake Andrew who calls himself Andrew)
Beth (a.k.a. Beffyhead)

Victor is Sexy

>> November 5, 2007

Today Victor and I were talking about Naruto at school and I said that Kakashi is SO sexy.

My friend Chloe has a Kakashi patch on her backpack, so at the end of the day I went and gave her a hug, and then started petting the patch. I just do that kind of thing, you know... being Naomi. Chloe and I started talking about the patch. I told her that earlier I told Victor he was sexy (Kakashi. I didn't say that to her, but that's what I meant)

Victor then walks by and Chloe is like: "Victor, you're sexy!" and I was laughing SO hard. I told her that I meant Kakashi and she and I started cracking up! So we kept saying Victor is sexy and telling everyone to say Victor is sexy and it was really funny.

Then we started singing Amish Paradise like a bunch of retards having fun.

Finding time to blog is not my forte.

My life lately: School, homework, rehearsals for Little Shop, and practicing my instruments. No fun whatsoever!

That's a lie, actually. World of Warcraft is also partly consuming my life.

I just haven't found any time for typing out my life.

Little Shop is coming along fine... not great, but fine. Heck week starts on Sunday, with move-in to the Courtyard and a 5 hour dress rehearsal- yes. I have to miss the youth costume party. It sucks!

Oh well, I have consolation in that I get a week of Worldviews homework off. YAY!

The fear of long words. How ironic!

Here is a very amusing article about its symptoms & treatment.

Another of my favorite words is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (not a link), which is the longest word in the English language.

According to the Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary, it means: "A lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silicate or quartz dust."

If you think about it, the whole process of eating is disgusting... The fact that you're putting a outside thing inside your body (usually dead), mashing it up, and sending it through nasty stomach acids, and passing it through.

Fair food makes it even worse. Do you know how much of that stuff is deep fried?!?! It grosses me out how Americans are so unhealthy a lot of the time. Walking through the fairgrounds just about made me sick!

The problem is, it just tastes SO good... especially funnel cakes... My head thinks... EW! but my stomach says Mmm... I was fortunate enough, however, to have a loving father who came from work about lunchtime, bringing me subway. We also had a bunch of stuff at the vitamix demonstration for dinner.

Ok. Now I feel better. I've let it all out. Even if you don't agree with me, that's ok.

Stupid Hormones

>> October 5, 2007

I know, I haven't been very active lately with my blog... I have no topics, I am currently almost burnt out.

Well, right now, I hate being a girl.

Rehearsals for Little Shop are going well. Tomorrow is another one... EXCEPT! No Jamey... If we don't know our lines, though, the stage manager will tell Jamey and we will be cut. Don't worry, I know my lines... I won't be cut. You can still come to my shows.

I found out on Monday that I am playing someone every night!! So now I have three, no, four parts: Nina Simon (my on night character who doesn't die), Detective Francis Stoolie (Off night... Still doesn't die), and two secretaries (they don't die either, but still). So there you have it!! Still have like 10 frickin' costume changes on my on night, but I'll look FABULOUS compared to everyone else.

Braces are not fun.

>> September 25, 2007

Yesterday I went to the orthodontist to get my braces adjusted.

So they take out my wires and look at my teeth, and the first thing they do is get this thingy with diamond dust on it and attach it to a vibrator. They stick it between my teeth and strip off some of my enamel because "my teeth are too big, and they need to be smaller to match my small lateral incisors on top."

They make a bunch of space between my teeth (oh, and by the way that vibration HURT!!) and then they say "So what color chain do you want?"

In my head I'm thinking... Oh great... another one of these... (the last power chain was WAY painful and hard to brush around) I say I want orange.

Dr. Nguyen (haha... Vietnamese is so funny looking... her name is pronounced Wen) then proceeds to stretch the t-i-n-y chain from bracket to bracket all the way across the bottom.

Luckily my mouth didn't start hurting until after my rehearsal for Little Shop of Horrors, but it hurts like HECK today!!

Mighty to Save

>> September 22, 2007

Mighty to Save, by Hillsong United. One of my favorite Pine Cove songs:

Verse 1:

Everyone needs compassion
Love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me

Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a savior
The hope of nations

He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save

Author of Salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus Conquered the grave

Verse 2:

So take me as you find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again

I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I Surrender

Shine your light and
Let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory
Of the risen King
Jesus Shine your light and
Let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory
Of the risen King

Chorus x2

And we're going to Downtown Plano... or we did.

It was fun... and hot...

So, we went to Haggard park. walked around. In the heat.

Then we went to Queen of Hearts. There was this guy in there that looked just like Jamey Jamison, my director from Charlie Brown. It wasn't him, but he was dressed just like him, and looked surprisingly similar from both the back and the front. But it wasn't him... scary.

So then we walked down to the candy shop and got... you guessed it... CANDY! Hooray!

(i just tooted really loud. just in case you wanted to know... I didn't think so... so sorry)

(Oh, speaking of that. Marcel, you're probably going to say, "You're bored aren't you?" So on that note, Chad Bryant from PATH keeps asking me if I'm bored... Did you talk to him? Its kinda scaring me.)

Next, we went to FUSION CAFE! Yummy coffee... and math... stupid math... it takes too much time... but anyway, that was yummy to say the least.

After that we went to hang out in the playground, (which by the way is tiny and I've outgrown it) and sat around in the heat.

And then we went home.

So ends my adventure.

NOW FOR SCRAPBOOK NIGHT... AND HOMEWORK!! I hate homework with a passion...

I need a topic.

there seem to be less and less every time I want to post something.

So, um, last night I watched She's the Man... good movie. A little strange.

ummmm... Don't know what to say...

Youth band at our church is going ok, but Charles won't let me sing.

Anyone want to donate some money so I can get myself an amp for my guitar, and maybe an electric?

I don't figure so.

Oh! you could also donate a few dollars to the buy Naomi a laptop for herself fund.

If I didn't have t0 pay for Pine Cove, I'd be able to buy a laptop in less than 6 months. But I'd rather go to Pine Cove than have a laptop, though that would be nice.

Do you know how spoiled I'd be if I were an only child?

DING DING DING DING!! The answer is Super duper uber spoiled. And what else... No one would like me.

I'm glad I'm not an only child, even though I wish sometimes i were, cuz then I could get pretty much anything from my parents.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my rambling on...

Incorrigible Truculence

>> September 12, 2007

I have been reading the Iliad for school. I like it, for the most part... some of the books are so boring, and they just talk about how Blah Blah Blah killed Blah Blah Blah by throwing his spear so that it landed on top of his head and poked out through his chin... you get the picture.

Some parts are really funny, though. Like this part in book 5:

... The grey-eyed goddess Athena hastened to Diomedes. By his char she found him resting, trying to cool the wound Pandaros' arrow gave him. Spent and drenched with sweat beneath his broad shield strap, he felt encumbered by his shield, being arm-weary, and slipped the strap off, wiped his blood away. The goddess put her hand upon the yoke that joined his battle team, and said:

"Ah, yes, a far cry from his father, Tydeus' son. Tydeus was a small man, but a fighter. Once I forbade him war or feats of arms that time he went as a messenger to Thebes alone, detached from the Akhaian host, amid Kademeians in their multitude. Bidden to dine at ease in their great hall, combative as he always was, he challenged the young Kademeians-and he had no trouble pinning them all, I took his part so well. but you, now-here I stand with you, by heaven, protect you, care for you, tell you to fight, but you are either sluggish in the legs from battle-weariness or hollow hearted somehow with fear: you are not, after all, the son of Tydeus."

(this part is boring, I know, but it leads up to the funny part)

Proud Diomedes answered her:

"I know you, goddess, daughter of Zeus who bears the stormcloud. With all respect, I can explain, and will. No fear is in me, and no weariness; I simply bear in mind your own commands. You did expressly say I should not face the blissful gods in fight-that is, unless Aphrodite came in. One might feel free to wound her, anyway. So you commanded, and therefore I am giving ground myself and ordering all the Argives to retire shoulder to shoulder here, because I know the master of battle over there is Ares."

(Funny comes soon)

The grey-eyed goddess answered:

"Diomedes, dear to my heart, no matter what i said, you are excusedc from it; you must not shrink from Ares or from any other god while I am with you. Whip your team toward Ares, hit him, hand to hand, defer no longer to this maniacal god my nature evil, two-faced everywhere. Not one hour ago I heard him grunt his word to Hera and myself to fight on the Argive side; now he forgets all that and joins the Trojans."

(see, its building up now...)

Even as she spoke, she elbowed [the driver] aside and threw him, but gave him a quick hand-up from the ground., while she herself, impetuous for war, mounted with Diomedes. At her step the oaken axle groaned, having to bear goddess and hero. Formidable Athena caught up the whip and reins and drove the horses hard and straight at Ares.

Brute that he was, just at that point he had begun despoiling a giant of a man, the Aitolians' best, Periphas, brilliant scion of Okhesios. the bloodstained god had downed him. but Athena, making herself invisible to Ares, put on the helm of the Lord of Undergloom. then Ares saw Diomedes, whirled, and left Periphas lying where he fell. Straight toward Diomedes lunged the ruffian god. When they arrived in range of one another, Ares, breasting his adversary's horses, rifled his spear over the yoke and reins with murderous aim. Athena caught and deflected it with one hand and sent it bounding harmless from the car.

(here it comes!)

Now Diomedes put his weight behind his own bronze headed spear. Athena rammed it at Ares' belted waist so hard that she put a gash in his fair flesh, and pulled the spearhead out again.

(Here it is!)

Then brazen Ates howled to heaven, terrible to hear as roaring from ten thousand men in battle when long battalions clash. A pang of fear ran throught the hearts of Trojans and Akhaians, deafened by insatiable Ares' roar. Like a black vapor from a thunderhead riding aloft on stormwind brewed by heat, so brazen Ares looked to Diomedes as he rose heavenward amid the clouds. High on Olympus, crag of the immortals, he came to rest by the Lord Zeus.. Aching, mortified, he showed his bleeding wound and querulously addressed him:

(It gets better.)

"Father Zeus, how do you take this insubordination? What frightful things we bear from one another doing good turns to men! And I must say we all hold it against you. You conceived a daughter with no prudence, a destroyer (what do you call yourself, Ares?) given to violence (as I said, What do you call yourself, Ares). We other gods obey you, as submissive as you please, while she goes unreproved; never a word, a gesture of correction comes from you-only begetter of the insolent child. She is the one who urged Diomedes on to mad attempts on the immortals-first he closed with Aphrodite, cut her palm, and now he hurled himself against me like a fury. It was my speed that got me off, or I should still be there in pain among the dead, the foul dead- or undone by further strokes of cutting bronze."

(this is the best part!)

But Zeus who masses cloud regarded him with frowning brows and said:

" do not come whining here, you two-faced brute, most hateful to me of all the Olympians combat and brawling are your element. This beastly, incorrigible truculence (nice words, Zeus!) comes from your mother, Hera, whom I keep but barely in my powerm say what I will. You came to grief, I think, at her command. Still, I will not have you suffer longer. I fathered you, I fathered you after all; your mother bore you as a son to me. If you had been conceived by any other and born so insolent, then long ago your place would have been far below the gods.

I don't know what you thought about that, but i thought it was pretty funny. Sorry if it wasn't, but maybe you just don't get my sense of humor in this area.

Hahaha... stupid, cowardly Ares. goes crying to his daddy at the slightest wound. hahaha.

Won't let me log in.

I'm bummed.

I've been watching Naruto lately, and I've gotten to episode 19. So far, it's my favorite. It's SO good, although, I must say, it's very deep, and it made me cry. For the past few episodes, Naruto's squad has been battling an assassin named Zabuza and his accomplice, Haku. Haku uses really thin pins to kill Naruto's friend Sasuke. Then he saves Zabuza from Kakashi sensei, who ends up killing him in episode 18. Also in episode 18, Kakashi immobilizes Zabuza's arms. That's about where it leads into episode 19.

I've been really depressed. I really didn't know why I felt so bad. I kept trying to fill my life with other things. It wasn't working at all. I still felt horrible. Then I realized something. I haven't been reading the Bible and spending time with God, and that made me feel horrible. I realized that while other things might make me happy for a little while, what I really need is my quiet time. Please pray for me. I really need it.

Walking on Broken Glass...

>> August 23, 2007

The reason I haven't written in about a week and a half is because I went on VACATION!!!! We stayed at our uncle's cabin in the mountains of New Mexico.

It was awesome, and we all had a good time bonding as a family.

In the long run, the vacation was pretty (for lack of a better word) uneventful. I mean, we did a lot of stuff, but nothing out of the ordinary happened. That is, except for the first day.

Let me explain the layout of the cabin: It has two stories. The bottom floor just has bedrooms and bathrooms, but the top one is a single, circular room with windows on all sides. on one side there are three huge windows that reach from floor to ceiling, and a sliding glass door. These overlook a balcony.

When we first got to the cabin, Victor thought the windows weren't there, and he ran smack into one of them. Now, we should have noted that and made a rule not to run inside, but we didn't.

Later, we were watching TV, and Elena got hot and (just let me tell you that we were extremely tired from driving all night), not thinking, ran and jumped through the open door. The only problem was that it actually wasn't the door! Her knee hit the 1/2 thick plate glass of the window, and it shattered! There were a few moments where we didn't have a clue what was going on. We were just screaming. My mom woke up thinking someone had died, but didn't have her glasses or her shoes, so she couldn't do anything. I took charge and got rags to stop her bleeding while my dad assessed the damage. Thankfully, the glass had only cut her arm and her knee, but one small gash on her wrist was spurting blood. it was nasty. The cut on her knee was bleeding badly as well.

So anyways, my mom went to the neighbors' house to use their phone to call the health clinic in the next town over, and we rushed over to Carizozo to get Elena treated. We spent most of the day in the waiting room. Take it from me. IT WAS FREEZING IN THERE!!!!!

So that was our great adventure. The rest of the vacation was boring compared to that (well, not really, but just go with the flow).

Well, today I've been babysitting since 10:30.

I love the kids, but I'm really bored (which is not saying much).

I hope their parents get home so I can play World of Warcraft. Maybe with Beth? I don't know.

I think they should be getting home very soon. YAY!! I'm getting paid $8 an hour!! But actually, I feel bad taking so much money for just two kids. I should be getting only like $5 an hour, but oh well!! It puts me so much closer to Pine Cove when I get 100 dollars at a time!!

Just so you know, I wasn't the one who decided to charge so much.

but anyway, i just want to relax right now. I'm extremely tired.

There's a fracture in the color bar
In the back seat of a parked car
By the liquor store where the streetlight
Keeps you company 'til the next night

In the same town, there's the same scar
In the same glow of the liquor store
By the freeway, where the headlight
Keeps her company 'til the next night

I'm not alright,
I'm broken inside
And all I go through
It leads me to you

Burn back the sun,

Mexico was so awesome it blows my mind! It is a beautiful country with beautiful people, and I wish people from the US were as generous and kind as Mexicans.

This week we stayed at the hotel Maria De La Luz and ate food at the restaurant there. It was most beautiful hotel I could imagine (though it wasn't the nicest you've ever stayed in).

I can't put to words how much I loved Mexico, but I do know that my favorite part was socializing with the people there. Each day we went to a different village and did a Bible Club. We went back in the evening to do our concert.

The villages we went to were:

Ek Balám

In Xcatún, we only did a concert, because we went there the day we went to Chichen Itza in the morning, but we went to the park and played with kids. One of the little girls there kept putting sand in my shoes, but she was so cute that I couldn't be mad at her. A couple of the boys kept jumping off the slide and pretending they were Superman.

In Xúch, we were just going to do a concert in the morning and then go to another town in the evening, but we ended up doing Bible Club because there were so many kids. The kids there were so sweet. I loved them. I was really happy that we went back there in the evening, but our concert got rained out, so we had to go home. Everyone was so sad.

The morning we were supposed to go to Pocbichen, we accidentally went to the wrong village, so we all got out and then had to get right back in the van. In Pocbichen, one of the girls had the same name as me! I have a picture of Noemí y Noemí. (That night we actually went to a different village, but we didn't really bond with the people, so I don't think it counts.)

When we went to Chichimilá, we thought, since it was a bigger town, we would have trouble getting kids to join in to VBS. We were surprised to find that this was the most involved group of kids we had. One of the little girls was adorable! Her name was Katerina, and she was three years old. She loved doing the motions to our puppet songs. When we went to the village in the evening, there was another little girl named Malaysia who was about three, but only like two feet tall, and she was really cute. The boys in Chichimilá were so crazy! I loved them.

Ek Balám was the last town we visited, and it also had the noisiest kids. The kids there were really quite greedy, especially the boys, but they were adorable all the same. Another thing was that they probably had an attention span of only three minutes, because they got really distracted during Bible School. That was my least favorite village. I'm glad we went to Cancun instead of going back to do a concert.

We went to a beach in Cancun the night we got there. It was really fun. we played in the waves and got so much sand in our suits it wasn't even funny. Actually it was really annoying, so when we went out to eat, I cleaned it out on to the bathroom floor (shh.. don't tell anyone)!

The next day we went to a water park built around a natural lagoon. It was a blast until about two o'clock, because by that time we were so ready to go home. Lauren, Clay, and I were the only people who didn't get sunburned. I ate nothing for nine hours, and I was in so much pain that we had to order pizza. And then the pizza was nasty.

Today I was SO happy to be home finally, even though I had a great time.

P.S. I took pictures of my feet every day, so expect another post about that soon.

Happy 4th!!

>> July 5, 2007

Hello, all you nerds who read my blog! (no offense?)

Did you have a good day this fourth of July?

I did.

The Texas Pool party rocked the house!! I had a great time getting smashed by all the multitudes of people trying to cram themselves into the limited water supply (so maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit...). I probably swallowed a half-gallon of icky water, but it was fun.

No really, today's party was AMAZING!!! The pool put up the high dive just for one day... oh, how I missed that thing... It is very nostalgic to me (I think I'm gonna cry...), it reminds me of all the years I had as a child of the Texas Pool before the city became evil and passed that evil law prohibiting the joy of high dives, stealing the joy of children... (what I mean to say, is that if the children have never gone off a high dive, they haven't really lived)

Back on earth, I re-perfected my 1 1/2 flip, showed off to all those people who are amazed at my mad skills (I admit it... I am a bit of a showoff... it's one of my imperfections), pigged out on hot dogs, and had an all around good time... The cats sure are having fun right now.

Tonight I went with my youth group and gave people free water before watching fireworks (which I didn't pay much attention to because my friends were there).

And tomorrow I have to get up really early to leave on my mission trip, so I think I had better stop writing now so I can get more than 4 hours of sleep.

>> July 3, 2007

Today Elena and I were at the Texas pool, and we decided to freak some people out.

We took off my swim trunks (it's ok. I was still modestly covered) and put them on the bottom of the pool.

We then waited for someone to pass by, and I swam down to get the shorts.

When I came up I said, "Awkward!" This one kid was like totally shocked! He was like, "GROSS!!!"

Elena and I burst out laughing, and we assured the kid it was OK.

Then it started thundering and we had to get out of the pool.

In the past week...

>> July 2, 2007

I haven't written anything in quite a while because I had my computer time taken for a week.

News from the past week...

Movies: I watched Fantastic Four 2 (same comic book cheesiness, but still good), Evan Almighty (The whole premise of that movie is hilarious, and the message is great), and two favorites of mine: Fantastic Four 1, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Music: I mastered several new skills on my guitar, and

I taught myself to play "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" on the piano (it has a bad word in ow about until I got the sheet music. See look, right there on the picture: explicit content). I downloaded all the Strong Bad songs from homestarrunner.com and put them on my iPod.

Social: The youth group had Camp Disco (which was amazing, by the way). I got my hair cut.

An old friend of mine came to my house (Troy has changed so much in the past 7 years. Wow). I went to Austin to visit a great aunt I didn't know I had until this week. I flew on the same plane as my friend who is a flight attendant (no planning involved).

Joel's finger is bleeding... um... yeah. So I think that's it.

>> June 22, 2007

I am having a WONDERFUL time performing my show at PCT home. We have nailed it every time so far. However, I am depressed, because we only have two shows left, and I have to play Twin 2 instead of Twin 1. Another depressing thing is that Colin isn't Linus anymore. Another depressing thing is that I won't be going to the cast party.

But I'm still happy, because tomorrow night I get to go WHIRLY BALLING!!!!!!!!!!! And like everyone will be there!!!

YAY FOR WATCHING HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS!!!! Which is what I'm doing right now. I know... you're thinking, "it's 10 o'clock at night, what's she doing watching a long movie like that?" The answer is, I don't know... exactly.

But its a good movie, so... blah. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah.

On top of that, my friends seem to be avoiding me.

The good thing is that I'm going to have fun tonight.

The bad thing about that is that it'll make me stay up late again.

Gah! I wish I could turn back time.

The Love Triangle

>> June 12, 2007

Last night Vacation Bible School started at my church. At first, I was with the 4-5 year olds, but then I got moved to the 3-4 year old class... I was with... guess who!... The Love Triangle!! (that's Crisana and her boyfriends, my brother Timothy and his friend Michael)

They crack me up!

At first, when we went to the playground, Crisana and Michael were the best of friends, but they kind of left Timothy out. When we went inside, we had snack, and everyone was each other's friends. But later, Crisana and Michael were playing with an electronic piano, got in a fight, and Crisana denied ever being Michael's friend.

I asked her, since she wasn't Michael's friend anymore, was she still going to marry him, or was she going to marry Timothy?

She's like: "No! I'm still going to marry Michael!"

But Michael says, "But I want to marry Samantha!"

Crisana replies, "No! you're going to marry me!"

Then Tim pipes up, "Yeah!"

I'm like, "wait a minute, Timothy, who do you want to marry?"

I sure don't understand 4-year-olds!

More About Tech Week

>> June 6, 2007

Jamey, my director, says that we are this close to pulling our show off.

Personally, I agree!

It is coming along great!

The show opens on Friday. Of course, I won't be in it as my character, but that's OK.

I have sold 37 tickets for sure.

Today we finally get to run the whole show in a dress rehearsal!

The only thing about this week is that I am extremely tired.

Television, Tech Week, and all that Jazz

>> June 4, 2007

I've been watching Alias lately (after all the seasons are over. How funny is that?). I'm on the second season, and I enjoy the show, but I find it quite frustrating that all the bad guys seem to ALWAYS get away. It is annoying how they always have the better plan. It didn't used to be that way when the Alliance existed, but now, with the Alliance out of the way, the show is very frustrating. I think what frustrates me most is that the fake Francie hasn't been discovered by Sydney Bristow yet. What makes the show great, I think, is Will Tippin and Michael Vaughn.

Speaking of television, I still haven't watched the season finale of Lost. i think I will do that after I finish with this post.

Tech Week for "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" starts today with move-in at 2:00. That's right after guitar lessons. I hope it goes well. I have dress rehearsals every day until Thursday, and then I have a break, because Collide Festival was canceled, and we might get to go camping. By the way, I've officially sold 28 tickets, with at least three more coming! That's over ten tickets more than my goal, which was 15!

I finally started treatment for the abundance of warts on my right thumb! I hope I remember to put my baking soda and castor oil mixture on it every night for 8 weeks. It will be so great to finally get rid of all those warts! From what I can tell, there are at least five warts on that one thumb (and in one spot, too), but I think there are seven! When I woke up this morning, my fingers were raisins under the band-aid.

By the way, Pepe is doing a lot better since he started taking his cat medicine.

And now, off to watch Lost finally!

I am SO freakin' bored!

>> June 1, 2007

I think the title speaks for itself, but I will write a little bit more, just to ease my boredom.

In referral to the "Dissappointment" post, the sun is now shining full well. It actually has been for a couple of days now!

the reason I'm bored is because I decided not to go to the pool today, and there is nothing to do at home. At least not when Mom isn't here.

My cat Pepe has been sick for quite a while now, but yesterday we got him medicine, and he is doing a lot better.

Here is a picture of Pepe.

And here is a picture of my other cat, Maria, hugging Pepe.

Aren't they adorable?

I should probably put a picture of my dog on here too.

Here she is holding Pepe.

Awww... Denali's SO cute!

I hope you enjoyed my rambling on about my pets. It really has helped my boredom.

Headless Chickens

>> May 30, 2007

Today I was wondering:

"Do chickens actually run around after their heads are chopped off?"
Well... I looked it up on YouTube.

And yes... they do.
And it's really funny, but kind of nasty!

My brother saw it in real life and he fainted.

Here is a link to the video. (note: not for the squeamish)

Gory, huh.

This comment on the video gives an explanation for this phenomenon... Although, I don't know how accurate it is. (it could be either wrong or right)
"As far as i know, the chicken as a whole complete organism is officially dead as soon as the spinal cord in the neck is severed. which would mean that any movement afterwards would just be reflexes/muscle spasms. but technically all the organs and tissue and muscle in the corpse is still alive they just aren't working together as a unit without the commanding presence of the brain."

The sun is not shining.

It hasn't really shone since before the swimming pool opened, and it still isn't shining! I want the clouds to go away. I want it to be warm so I can be cooled in the pool instead of getting frozen.

But I can't control the weather.

>> May 28, 2007

This is my initiation.

I really don't know what to write about. I have had several blogs. All failures!

I suppose I had better start with an about me.

I am the oldest of five. I live with my parents and siblings in a medium-sized house in the United States. My mom and dad are the best! I don't know how they put up with us. I am just about to enter high school, but I have never been in a school classroom, because I'm homeschooled. I have great friends from my various homeschool co-ops. I'm a Christian and proud of it!

This summer I'm in a play at a real theater! The play is, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown!" Another thing I am excited about this summer is my church's mission trip to the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Still another highlight of my summer will be Pine Cove! I get to go to Shores finally!

This summer will be very busy.
